What Do We Repair?

The HiFi Shop repairs and services all quality turntables, amplifiers, speakers, CD players, tape decks, from brands such as Yamaha, Marantz, Naim, Musical Fidelity, Cyrus, Linn, NAD, Rotel, Cambridge, Rega etc etc. We do not repair old all-in-one 'radiogram/stereogram' type units though and we no longer service very old tube gear, only newer equipment such as Audio Research, Unison Research, Prima Luna, EAR Yoshino etc.

How Much?

The HiFi Shop charges a fee to book your job in which in turn is deducted from the total cost of a repair. This fee is $95 for most types of equipment. Complex equipment such as AV receivers, high-end stereo amplifiers, tube-amplifiers and sophisticated one box do everything style receivers such as say a Naim Uniti attract a higher quote fee of $145.

If say we quote you $195 for the repair once we have had a look and fault found the issue, the $95 (or $145) would be deducted and $100 (or $50) would be payable upon pick up of the completed repair. If for whatever reason the equipment cannot be repaired (through lack of parts or too time consuming fault finding process etc) then the $95 payment is retained by The HiFi Shop to help offset the time taken to discuss it with the client, book the job in, carry out the actual fault finding, chasing parts and parts pricing, and discussing the outcome.

How Long?

The vast majority of repairs booked in at The HiFi Shop will be at least started on within 3 - 5 days. Fault finding difficulties (intermittent faults, tricky faults etc) and parts supply delays can cause some jobs to take a week or two to be completed. Most repairs though are in and out of The HiFi Shop within the week. If you are in Brisbane or the Gold Coast and don't wish to drive up with your repair call The Hi Fi Shop for details on wholesale rate freighting options. All repairs carry a 6 month warranty. This only applies to the actual fault repaired, not the entire machine.

If you have any further questions or wish to book your equipment in for repair, please call 07 5437 9790 or email us on info@thehifishop.com.au.
